In 1986, Nora Carruthers wrote our Pictorial Past. She would guide school field trip tours for Groveport. She passed at 91 years old.

Groveport had its own telephone office in the late 1800s. This photo was taken on Nov. 29, 1939. It was located on Main Street. The building where the telephone office was located is now owned by Jerry Myers. Pictured at the switch board are (from the left) Elizabeth Miller, Lillian Hamer Babbert, Zorice Lytle and Elsie Derflinger Sims. The building was later used as a barber shop by Bert Seymour and burned on March 4, 1962. The picture was furnished by Lillian Hamler Babbert and give to Pictorial Past Columnist Nora Carruthers.
