“I tell my story in waiting rooms, at the auto shop, or in the bank lobby. I have a collection of stories from the responses. Last week, the plumber said he was going to be the first to buy a book today. Many say, ‘You’ve made my day!’”- Herchel E. Newman

Herchel E. Newman of Groveport was recently awarded a space in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Faith and Miracles to share his story.

His story “Escape from Hell” is one of 101 awe-inspiring accounts of divine intervention, answered prayers, insightful dreams, and unexplained events that bring comfort, encouragement, and renewed belief in the miraculous,” Publicity Officer Shelby Janner said.

“Because of the stellar reputation of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, I wanted to be included in this book because My Hope is alive, My Faith isn’t misplaced, and My Miracle is true. The knowledge that my story can reach so far, along with the army of one hundred others, to encourage people, is an honorable mission. This serving of soup can feed many hungry souls.” Newman said.

Outside of writing, Newman is a skilled photographer, enjoys motorcycle riding with his club and as a family man, he and his wife enjoy mentoring young married couples.
