That is why we must recommit ourselves to living unmuted and unafraid—speaking our convictions with respect, listening with empathy, and ensuring that no American fears retaliation for their beliefs.

The freedom to live unmuted and unafraid is the essence of civil discourse, and it is the path forward. Let us honor those we have lost by rejecting hatred and violence, and by choosing to build a future of respect, compassion, and unity.”

“Politically motivated violence is reprehensible and should be strongly condemned, regardless of the victim. In a truly free society, individuals should be able to share their opinions without fear of losing their life. If we want to maintain our republic, we must unite and come together enough to where we can have a civil discourse and exchange of ideas, agree to disagree, and all our lives remain intact. My sincere prayers go out to the families of all those impacted by political violence.”
