According to the Census Reporter, the greatest percentage of Groveport’s population is age 50 , at 40 percent.

The Groveport Senior Center knows how to keep seniors active and offers them plenty of opportunities to get involved.

In addition to active programs like line dancing and chair volleyball, the senior center offers Thursday lunch for $4, mahjong on Mondays, and book clubs.

For health focused activities, they offer hearing screenings and foot care clinics.

A person must be the minimum of 55 years to join the senior center and the fee is $10 per year. Those who are 60 years, can take advantage of the Groveport Senior Transportation Program that offers door to door transportation for Groveport residents.

All members of the Groveport Senior Center are automatically members of the Groveport Madison Senior Citizen’s Club. The club is a 501c3 that offers charitable and good-works to the Groveport community.

The club collect school supplies for the local schools annually and hosts an Adopt-a-Family Christmas Program where a bucket is passed during Thursday lunches to collect donations.

The club also coordinates fundraising efforts for the Groveport Food Pantry and Groveport Human Needs.
